Drs, Drs, and more Drs!

I took two days off this week to take care of much need doctors appointments. I wish I could say that Potato took his visits well but that is not the case this time.

(Monday)
We started off the day going to the Pediatrician for a well baby check up and more vaccines. He was so happy when we arrived and even got in a little play time with a few of the other WELL babies in the office. It was our turn and he walked in like a big boy to get his height, weight, and head circumference taken.

Height-2 feet 8 inches=72th percentile

Weight-29lbs=92th percentile

Head circumference-19 inches=77th percentile

Then it was time to talk to the doctor followed by vaccines. The thigh shots are usually not a problem but when the nurse gave him two shots in his little fat arm he lost his mind. Clayton is such a soft hearted child and it breaks my heart when I hear him say "Owee!" over and over followed by crocodile tears. I felt myself welling up but had to stop that because there were four more to go!!! As soon as the nurse was done I picked him up and held him for a couple seconds and he was all better.

Now it was time to head to the Pediatric Eye Doctor. This visit went very well. I am sure everyone is thinking "He is too young or doesn't his pediatrician check their eyes?" While the latter is true I don't want to take any chances since our family is just riddled with eye problems including Mr and I. Over protective....yes I guess that is what I can be called, but you will never be able to say that I missed something or that my child's health is not a priority!

(Tuesday)

The morning was spent at dentist office for the Randolph family. It would be strange to say that we had a great time but I have to say that it was GREAT anyways! Mr went first and got his pearly whites cleaned and checked (no problems). Then it was Potato's turn to sit in the chair. He ate all of the attention up. Our dental assistant checked all of his teeth and was shocked that he already has his first set of molars. His teeth are great and they were very happy to see us bring him in so he can get used to everything. Potato got to play with the "water sucker", "tooth tickler", and they even gave his own big boy tooth brush! He was so excited! The dentist looked like she was about to pop out her own baby. She was such a sweet heart and we can't wait for our next cleaning in six months. Ms Dentist said that Clayton was her youngest customer and that we should expect toys in the lobby for next time!!! Yay.

Since we had such a great time at the dentist Mr and I were not able to make it to our eye appointment and had to reschedule but it was worth it for us to all be together.

My Potato is an amazing little man!

Shreveport getaway!

Five o'clock Friday the Randolph gang was on the road heading speedily to Shreveport. We were so excited to visit our favorite Dr to be! Potato wanted to get some rest before he partied all night with Aunty K, so he pretty much slept the entire way there! The visit was not long enough, as they never are.

We arrived at the Shipley's humble abode at 7:30pm and that meant much time to play before nite nite time! After we scoped the huge house/apartment the last thing Potato realized was that Aunt K had an OWSIDE room.

Then we tried to blow up our bed and well....

We had a very relaxing Saturday morning with Mr making breakfast. I felt like we had no where to go and fast! Such a nice feeling to have when you are visiting someone that has such a big piece of your heart. I find you are true friends/family with someone when you have no sense of urgency with them. Meaning, if you can sit in the same room and watch a show without the awkward silence you have reached that special part in your relationship.

With ONE Shipley and Three Randolph's in tow we all went for a walk on the boardwalk in Bosier and it had to be the prettiest day this year! Clayton was so full of energy Aunty K had her hands full! There were so many shops that called to me but I denied the call thanks to my Mr.

Overall we had a very wonderful visit and we were all very sad to leave. On a very exciting note, Mr. Army(Dr K's Hubby) will be coming in for a visit before he ships overseas. It will be a very sad day for the grown-ups but I do believe that when Tator sees his Parrain the room will light up with his smile followed by tongue tricks.

Ok I will have to post more on our visit later!

Dr Shipley Visits

Dr. K, came into town this weekend and was so nice to pay her family a visit. Dr K brought along a dr friend and we had a nice visit.

The Randolph family partook in the Shipley wedding this past January 2010. A couple days later Mr T had to go to Mississippi for training before he deploys. Mr. T has been my Mr's best friend since middle school. He is Clayton's Parrin,(Cajun/Coon-Ass) for Godfather.

Dr K brought over finger paints, construction paper, and crayons for Tator to color Parrin a purty picture. It turned out loverly of course. Hand print and all.
Potato liked everything except for when it was time to wipe the paint off of his hand and when Dr K fussed him for coloring mommies floor.

Thank God she was nice enough to buy all of the artsy stuff and let us keep it to make some more pretties. This blog is a tribute to her and all that she has accomplished. She is a great sister and aunt and the Randolph's would be truly lost without her in our lives.

Cupids Cuddlies!

Valentines day was very beautiful this year and the Randolph Family stayed in their pj's all day! Me and Tator did a lot of cuddling in the morning and let daddy sleep. After my Sunday cleaning ritual we traveled to the Thevis (they live on the corner) to wish them a Happy Cupid Day! It was such a pretty day and warm enough for shorts.

Side note from Tator:"vbllbigdzxjokdiujdusdkrjfskjsjrjlkmfec kv; y'i' " He loves to play on the computer....when daddy is not looking of course!

After spreading kisses Mr. R and I rounded out the night with white wine, chicken cordon bleu, and and relaxing. I hope that you guys had a wonderful cupid day!

Snow Day!

Watching the news Friday morning had me giggling....snow....yay sure. I was chatting with a friend that lives about 10 miles from my house and she said that she was getting hug snow flakes at her house!?!? WTH! I ran to my front door swung it open excitedly only to find huge...RAIN DROPS! Well I sauntered back to my puter and told her and of she laughed. I decided to accept the fact that I had to go to work and got ready for work and Potato ready to go to Nana's house. Well I stepped out the door and thought I was hallucinating when I seen these white, icy, snow flakes falling fast from the sky. Of course a lot of it melted as soon as it hit the ground and left wonderful puddles (that later had my cursing while having to walk threw them). I ran inside and got Matthew and Potato ready to go and play.

It was not thick snow but it made us WHO DAT peeps very happy. Potato decided that he needed to run through all of the puddles. He was so excited as you can tell by the picture below. When it was time to go inside he was not having it and cried for 5 minutes. He must have not noticed that his face was turning BLUE!
We don't get such sweet pleasures often but I think that is what makes them more worth the wait! Happy snow day to you and the family.

Wednesday Wishlist!

As mommies how do we know what to wish for? Do we ever get what we wish for? I have a hard time with this part of my life and always have. I get a bonus each year and they get better and better the longer I am with my company. I am very lucky to work for Prudential as I am actually appreciated and compensated for my hard work. Ok so back to what I was saying. I will be finding out how much my bonus is on the 18th along with my annual raise. I have already started my usual list but I have already defeated myself by thinking of the things that Potato or my Mr. would like to have or need. Their wants and needs have and always will come before mine that is just understood. Ultimately they will get everything that I think they could want or need and what ever (small) amount is left I spend that on my house. Why do I do this to myself?!? Mr never asks me to spend my bonus or him or Clayton and actually gets quite upset when I go against his wishes. So to wrap things up and get off my insane pity pot here or some of the things that I wish I had and may one day have the gumpshun to buy!

I like this suit!

I bake at least twice a weak and this would save my arm!

My best friend lets me borrow hers everyweekend and its awesome!

I would love to have anything from her product line. Especially her "TRASH" bowl!!

Sunday Summary

This week has been such a busy one mentally and physically. Work of course is always an issue but I found out this week that a great friend passed away. Mr B changed my life and always gave me hope. He will always be in my thoughts.

Wednesday came along and a birthday surprise was in order for my mother. Balloons, cake, two baby boys and an early morning at the clinic made for a great morning. I wish my mornings could always be that great. CC's was calling sis-n-law and me. Yay!

My adopted little brother is going off to Boot Camp for the Air Force on Monday so we went and celebrated last night at Chili's. I watched this little boy grow up to a fine young man with a great head on his shoulders. Clayton is really attached to him and I know he will take his absence hard. Clayton's Godfather is already playing army and about to go over seas. I have started to show Clayton pictures of these two guys so that he doesn't forget their face.

Now today is going to be a very intense day. SUPER BOWL!!!! SAINTS VS COLTS. I am hosting a party at my house with friends and family and it just doesn't get any better. There will be yelling and hopefully happy tears when we celebrate the Saints win. Pictures to follow later.

Simply Bliss

I follow a few blogs and the big thing for this week is to list the simple pleasures in your life. If you think about it we take for granted so many things in our lives. Bliss, pleasure, comfort, contentment, enjoyment, and indulgence are a few words that describe the simple things in our life that make it count.

The things that make my life simply bliss are:

1. The feel of pudgy fingers on my face.
2. A clean house.
3. Hearing my husband saying "Honey can I do that for you?"
4. DVR
5. Weekends with my boys in our pjs.
6. The pitter patter of little feet running upstairs and then hearing Mr saying "Put that down!"
7. Febreeze!!!
8. Vanilla Lavender candles
9. Holding my Potato and running my fingers through his golden curls.
10. Conquering a new recipe! (Gumbo...Thanks to my BIL J)
11. Chasing a running baby through academy and realizing the more I tell him to slow down the faster he goes!
12. Great hair days.
13. Laying in clothes straight out the dryer.
14. Finding great deals in the store.
15. Surfing the net and making a mental wish list. That I forget later!
16. Calling the people on the drive home and catching up on their lives.
17. Planning home improvement projects
18. The smell of my husbands special breakfasts.

There are so many things that I am missing but you know what they are as I am sure they are the same as yours. Lets all sit back and realize how may blissful things we have in our lives. What are yours?
