The First Wave DVD Giveaway

I was contacted by First Wave to do a giveaway of one of their hit dvds,"Fundamentals." As soon as I turned the dvd on and pushed play Potato was hypnotized by the narrator. She is a mother herself and she speaks in a very sweet tone that just drew his attention.

The Fundamentals dvd goes over Letters, Numbers 1-12, Shapes, Colors, The Body, Opposites, Verbs, Prepositions, Music, and so much more. I was very happy when I realized that the "mother" was very well spoken and used no slang. Hard to find these days!

The First Wave, LLC was created by a mother and daughter to get our children interested in learning, creativity, and discovering. They encourage the parents or guardians to repeat the activities with their little ones as well.

I didn't think that Potato was catching on then one day while we were driving to my parents he was able to recognize an animal he had seen from the dvd. It was a HORHE! I slammed the breaks freaking out because I had never heard him say the word much less be able to recognize the animal. I was full of joy and it got better when DH tried to correct him saying "No Potato it's a HORSEY!" Well lets just say that our soon to be 23 month old looked his daddy in the eye and said "No, it's a HORHE, DADDY!" Yet again I about lost it while driving.

It's moments like this when you realize that your children are watching and listening to everything. You may think that you are putting the dvd in as a distraction, but it is much more!

Tommee Tippee Giveaway!!!!

Ok mommies! I have found the holy grail of spill proof sippy cups! I swear!

I want to tell you that I was seriously doubtful that this cup; although cute, would actually prove to be what I all mommies dream about. I mean how many mommies wish they did not have to take the clorox wipes to every part of their vehicle after their little angel shook all of their juice out of the spill-proof sippy cup. I was that Mommy!

When public relations for Tommee Tippee wanted me to review the Explora Truly Spill Proof Drink Cup.... I did a happy dance! I chose the blue/green. Your other choices are pink/purple and pink/green.

If you know me then you know I am a mommy on the go and where I go Potato goes! I am always searching for those perfect traveling items for the little dude. These Tommee Tippee cups have an insulated base that help keep drinks cooler for longer. Does your sippy cup do that?

I found it very useful that they offer much more than a sippy cup they offer weaning advice for breast feeding mothers, advice for dads, and other products such as pacifiers, bibs, etc! Their site is very welcoming and soft. Its not often that you are drawn in by something that is not over the top.

Meredith LeVande Kids- Giveaway Reminder!!!!

I hope everyone is having a great day! I wanted to make sure that you remember to enter my latest giveaway! Meredith LeVande's childrens cd is not something you want to miss out on. Potato and I love jamming to her music every morning and afternoon. I promise you won't be sorry when your little one starts holding up their fats fingers trying to count with the music!

I think I will be extending the date on it because of the holiday weekend. What do you think?

How do you dine?

When I look back at my childhood memories I remember that as a family we ate dinner. What I mean is that we 9 times out of 10 would all sit down at the dinning room table and eat together. I know this must sound completely taboo. I should also say that my parents have also been married 25+ years and that is also not really heard of now-a-days.

I have two reasons that I am randomly talking about my dining plans.
#1- Our family of 3 does NOT sit down and eat a meal together. Well let me take that back we may sit down(all together) once a week to eat. I feel that this is wrong and that I should change this habit. You know that commercial on tv that says a family that dines together will have kids that stay out of trouble. I feel that to a point this is very true. I think that if you have at least one meal together with no distractions that provides an outlet for conversation and dream sharing.

DH's family did not have meals together often at all. Hubby's dad works off shore and mom worked long hours so I would say the only time they dined together was on the weekends or holidays. This makes me sad but he is not warped because of it either.
Just a little food for thought? Do you dine at your kitchen tables?

#2- My second reason for the random post is that I want to inform you that I will be doing another giveaway with CSN Stores. I am very excited! CSN Stores has 200+ stores with everything imaginable.

My mother-in-law has a dining room and a breakfast nook. I think that is amazing. You must think I am a nerd but I have never had a breakfast nook! When I think of my breakfast nook this is what I think about!

Meredith LeVande's Monkey Monkey Music CD- What Are the Odds: Review & Giveaway!

It was bound to happen that Potato was/is going to be a music connoisseur. DH can name the song, artist, and/or CD title, of any given music he hears. I was amazed at this and I am on a mission to stump him lol.

Meredith starting playing during college and she preferred to sing about children and their struggles to find out just who they were on the inside. She ended up taking the traditional children's songs and making them her own. It was a hit!

We try and make it a point to turn off the tv and turn on some form of music. Potato's new favorite CD is by Meredith LeVande.

I was very impressed when I say she wrote all of her songs. You can't say that about many artists these days. Meredith was a Parenting magazine "pick" and has been heard on Sirius Satellite Radio. Her music is very child appropriate and I am not ashamed to say that both my husband and I have danced alongside Potato.

"What are the odds?" is actually out and available on Amazon.com. It's so worth the money to watch your baby find their inner groove!
