Meredith LeVande's Monkey Monkey Music CD- What Are the Odds: Review & Giveaway!
Meredith starting playing during college and she preferred to sing about children and their struggles to find out just who they were on the inside. She ended up taking the traditional children's songs and making them her own. It was a hit!
We try and make it a point to turn off the tv and turn on some form of music. Potato's new favorite CD is by Meredith LeVande.
I was very impressed when I say she wrote all of her songs. You can't say that about many artists these days. Meredith was a Parenting magazine "pick" and has been heard on Sirius Satellite Radio. Her music is very child appropriate and I am not ashamed to say that both my husband and I have danced alongside Potato.
"What are the odds?" is actually out and available on Amazon.com. It's so worth the money to watch your baby find their inner groove!

Munchie Mug: Product Reivew & Giveaway
- Potato and I were completely ecstatic when we seen the little brown box squeezed tight in our mailbox. I mean who wouldn't be?! After I pick up Potato from day-care he helps me check the mail and well he called dibs on the box before I could even get to it, thankfully it was for him. So like the big boy he carried it all the way to the house. I have to admit his Mommy was too excited herself. DH shook his head at our silliness but I know that he couldn't wait to see what had arrived.
Hot dog! The three of us huddled around the little box while I opened. We let Potato do the honors though:

I do believe that Witty Works Inc. has made a product that makes Potato and Mommy super happy. So far I have let Potato use it in the car, store, his room, and I have not had to worry about finding his snack shaken out all over the place. When we travel I threw the stay fresh lid on and tossed the whole mug in my purse. I was a little worried about cleaning but I followed the instructions and threw it in the dishwasher only to find it was perfect and ready for another snack!
Please go to the Muchie Mug website for more information.

* Soft fabric closure for sensitive little hands

* Great for healthy snacking: Cereals, dried fruits, crackers, etc.

Daddy teached me swimmin! Day #1
DH and I have been searching for a place to take Potato for swimming lessons for a bout 7 months now but haven't had much luck. Either places were really expensive or they did not offer days and times that we could make. For the 4th of July weekend all the friends came over and we had a pool party and of course Potato was showing off his abilities to swim. Everyone was very impressed and told us that we should be practicing with him on a daily basis. I agree.
On Thursday DH and I took him to the pool and had a lot of practice. The water was very refreshing and the perfect way to end a work day. We also had a few visitors come out to the pool and one of them happened to be a swim instructor. Her name was Kala.....meant to be....maybe ;-)! She was working with a 3 year old girl and a boy Potato's age. Kala was just shocked at how advanced Potato was and I felt bad for her because the little boy she was working with was rejecting the water.
She brought noodles and a little boogie board. Potato almost got out of our hands a few times trying to get to the boogie board. I will probably be picking up a noodle and a boogie board soon.
Anyway I took Kala's number and will give her a call next week. I am hoping she doesn't charge too much because I was very impressed with her patience and technique. I think I would prefer doing a group class more because I want to be involved in his progress and I love it when Potato is able to make new friends.

Arts and Crafts:Maracas
DH and I took him to the doctor and Mr. Pediatrician diagnosed him with HFMD (hand, foot, and mouth disease) yesterday and can't go back to school until the doctor releases him. I do have to say that really got off easy with this sickness. He barely has any spots and there has been no fevers. Mr. Pediatrician said that HFMD is suppose to run 103-105 degree fevers. He is in great spirits.
I leave you with our art project for our first day of hookie!
Go check out my video you won't be sorry!

Lowes: Build and Grow-Catapult
Build and Grow Clinics. Each clinic provides your child with the learning experience of working with his/her hands. If you are the first 50 kids/families there at 10am on Saturday then your child gets a free apron, goggles, and the kit to build your item for the day.
Catapult was the clinic item this week and it couldn't have gone any better. Although Potato was not having the goggles. In his defense none of the other babies were down with it either. The bigger kids did not mind and thank God I really did not have to worry about any items flying around the work bench.
I really went in there this morning expecting a huge rush of people thinking the same thing as I. FREE! Well we were the first ones and that meant we got the best seat....on the floor ;-)! I DID NOT care. You could not have beaten the smile off my face while I was watching Potato tap tap tap with great hand-eye coordination I might add. He was such a trooper. Potato made sure to read the distructions before we started along with watching....snooping off our neighbors build.
The clinics go from 10am to 11am and we were done by 10:30. So not only is it FREE it does not take a really long time and the babies don't have a chance to get bored or restless with the builds. When we finished we catapulted our ball a few times then started to pack up and make room for another little baby.
At the end of the build you go back to the registrar table and they give you a certificate for your build and a BADGE! Its not a cheapy iron on badge but a real one that you have to sew on....kinda like boy scouts. I fought back the tears of watching Potato receive his first reward. I mean any mommy would have melted to see his face and how proud he was of himself.
Well the next build is going to be a RACE CAR! If I don't keep it for sentimental reasons then we may have to send that to Parrain because he is a Nascar fanatic. I also plan on having Potato's name embroidered on his apron so he doesn't have to have the paper tag. I know I tend to go over board but I really don't care and I think Clayton will enjoy looking back at all that he has achieved, even at such a young age.
Please if you and your family want to have a great experience then I highly recommend this event! I mean just look at our smiles.

Uhhh...Ohhhh!
While Mommy and Daddy cook dinner Potato is doing arts and crafts....usually. He was being a rebel tonight! I hope you enjoy the video.
Then we worked on our fishy face! Excuse the mess on the Potato as Mommy made some awesome chicken alfredo and he ate two bowls!
