Turkey Day 1- Wilson House

After leaving my parents house for Thanksgiving that morning we heading for an early turkey dinner at my brother and sister-in-law's house. They had such a spread. I guess you would have too since there were going to be 30 mouths to feed.

Mr. Randolph and I weren't too hungry so we did our visiting and I had my wine of course. It was so relaxing to be able to visit with the Tater Man while he playing with his cuz Jackscon(what he calls him)! They love each other and they played hard all evening.

I was able to convince Tater Man to get into the fun jump, which is no easy task. I think he had one bad experience that he holds on to. Thankfully after a few jumps with his cuz he was ready to play and loves to jump now.

When it was time to go it was decided that Tater would spend the night with Nana and Papaw. I headed to Wal-Mart to prepare for my Black Friday shopping and Mr. Randolph had a buddy come over for a gaming night.

We all had a blast and couldn't be more thankful. I have a third post about Thanksgiving because we had FOUR different celebrations. I only got pictures from three of those.

One happy family. We weren't even the biggest family there!

Chick or Chreet!

Halloween was crazy this year. Tater Man and I went to several stores and he tried on 3 costumes only for him to fall in love with the last one. Go figure! I was a momma on a mission.

So happy....for candy!
We missed doing our trick or treating with The Smith’s this year because we went to the neighborhood where Mr. Randolph’s parents live. There was definitely a lot more going on in this subdivision than we were used too. They had trucks pulling trailers full of kids and lots of scary costumes.

I am glad Tater Man was not scared of the trailer ride but sad because we were holding back the other kiddos Trick or Treating. Tater needed to look at each pumpkin, black cat, and play some red light green light whilst the other kids knew to get in get the candy and then get out. So instead of him riding in the trailer with the other kids we walked, skipped, and hopped to each house. Oh well, I will be bringing the wagon next year.
Chick or Chreet with mommy.

I was a little upset at a few of the parents because they were not watching their preteens that were practically running over the toddlers to get to the candy. Not Cool! Then on top of that why in the world would you have a Jason/Freddy Kruger/Slasher mask on when a group of two year olds are coming up to your table? All you had was freaked out babies either crying or running away or if you are Tater, just decided to skip that house completely! Mr. Randolph had to gesture to a few of the guys for them to take their masks off. At least I was not alone in my feelings.

Besides all that drama Tater had a great time and even got in a little hopscotch and had the ladies oohing and ahhing over his skills. Big Ham! I believe it would have been more fun for Tater to be with one of his cousins. Maybe next year!
Tater Man was not happy because Lightening kept him from running fast-fast!

I am happy to say all my nieces and nephews were some of the best dressed babies for Halloween, there was a Cowardly Lion, T-Rex, LSU Cheerleader, LSU Football Player, and a Greek God!

Daddy was our hero and made all the bad scary people go away!

Of course Papaw makes all things better!

Its blurry but I still find Tater's expression priceless!

Art Walk- September 10th

Mr. Randolph and I spent most of Saturday "cleaning" house. We had a load of things to go to Goodwill, Tater's Daycare, trash, storage, and some things for my sister-n-law. I just feel so much better with having the house a little lighter.

Then we did some relaxing because we planned on heading downtown for Artwalk. Mr. Randolph was very happy to find out that our friends, the Stanton's, were joining us. If you know my husband, you know that the Artwalk is not his thing and that large crowds bother him. Randolph is a big guy so he doesn't like people crowding him.

We also had the nice treat of bumping into my in-laws. I have told you several times that my MIL is very creative and artsy-fartsy. VERY! This monthly event is definitely her scene and since her hubby was in from work he was checking all the art out as well.

I thought that we had bumped into all the people we knew already until we found out that Mr. Randolph's, Nanny Sissy, was in town for the musical section of the Artwalk. Sissy plays the fiddle and did very well.

Our little family of three got to participate in some artsy activities. The Lafayette Children's Museum had several booths set up for kids. Tater got to create a masterpiece all his own. I will be searching for a frame! There was a big bubble area but we weren't able to get into that but it will happen next month.

Tater and I playing chalk.

After all the fun of walk the Nana, Papaw, Tater, Mr. Randolph, and I headed to Agave for some incredible food. We gorged ourselves, of course. I had the fish tacos which were a million times better than what I had at Bud and Alley's Taco Bar. I do believe Cajuns just make it better!

Watching airplanes on the phone, at Agave's.

We wrapped up all the fun downtown and headed home. Tater ended up going to spend the night at his Nana and Papaw's. Mr. Randolph and I knew this would happen because if it didn't Tater would have had a mental breakdown. He loves them a little bit. Our friends the Stanton's ended up meeting us at the house to watch a movie and carry on the adult beverages. I ended up dozing on and off through the movie. I am a bad friend I know but it was 1 am and this little momma was flippin exhausted!

Gorgeous huh?!?!

Until the second Saturday of October....

Back in April- Easter

I know that this is really late but so many memories I did not want to leave out!

On Easter morning the Randolph Krewe woke up and went to an early church service. It ended up being more wild than I thought but that is only because I am used to a more calm atmosphere. It was pleasant and uplifting.

After church we headed to my sister-n-law's, rents house, and we enjoyed a wonderful Easter Brunch. The toddlers enjoyed a little Easter egg hunt while the adults had there adult beverages. It was so nice to have Tater and my nephew, Jackson spend some quality time with one another. They really grow to fast!

After our visit we headed to my parents house and ate again. Crawfish and BBQ was on the menu. I got to love on my beautiful niece and nephew and watch them open many little presents from the Easter Bunny. I love watching their eyes light up.

When we got home that afternoon we were beat, to say the least, but just then Tater realized that the Rabbit had came to visit him....at his house. Oh my gosh! I am surprised that the kid did not go into a sugar coma with all the candy he had that day.

Until next Easter.....

Summer Vacation: Florida Day Entry 1

Sunday, the 14th, Tater, Nana Nanny(Tater renamed her), Aunt Joanie, and I headed for the Blue Mountain Beach Florida. We left bright and early that morning. The back of MIL car was completely packed, so much so that we could not see out the back window. We did not care!
Tater had his portable DVD player and I had my nook. I started reading a book that my SIL sugested, The Help. While I read and tried to keep from getting to car sick Nana and Aunt Joanie jammed to their 60's era music. Quite hilarious! I don't think it is illegal to dance while you drive and I was only a little worried lol.

I had to get resourceful since his head phones kept falling out. I slapped a headband on him and all was ok.
Tater were got to experience his first tunnel. He was so excited going through the dark whole. I really think he was blown away. Auntie Joanie also bought him his first smurf toy from McDonalds. He also coined a new phrase along the drive. "I FEEL HAPPY!" Oh boy he made sure to say it about a million times along the way.

We made a rest stop in MS and Tater and I did a little running to work out some of the energy. I was in desperate need of nap time since he was in the middle of his third mental break down. I can only imagine how hard it must be for a two year old to sit for so long.

It didn't take long for us to make it to the condo. Thank God for Bambi, Dumbo, and various other cartoons otherwise Tater may have not made it. We did finally make it after 7 long hours and boy it was just breath taking.

The Adagio was a dream come true. Before I forget to tell you, our little vacation trip was a gift from my MIL and FIL. What a gift right?! I think that this vacation will become a tradition. Next year we will make sure and have all the men with us!

Tater had his own room with a twin bed and Mr Randolph and I would be sleeping in our own room with a nice big king size bed. He can't fit in anything smaller.

The view!
We hurried and unpacked threw all the bags on the floor and hauled ass to the beach. I have only been to the beach once before and this was Taters first time. I was so excited to see how he would react to the sand and the ocean for the first time. I don't believe I will ever forget his squeals and the big grin he had on his face. He was in shock because of all the dirt that was everywhere. He warmed up to it quickly and started to build sand castles.

After about 5.....million mountains built in the sand we raced to the ocean. I wanted to see how he would react to the water. Well we ran almost all the way to the water and he was screaming with joy. Tater got three feet from the edge of the water and stopped. I wondered why he stopped then all I heard was him screaming SHARK as he ran back to the stairs. I was thankful that there weren't really any other people on the beach. I fell down I was laughing so hard. I guess watching Shark Week before going to the beach was not the greatest idea.

Later that evening my sis (Mr. Randolph's big sister) showed up with my beautiful nephew and of course the smothering of kisses started immediately. They live in Colorado so when they come and visit it is a super big deal. My nephew Aiden (Gecko) will be turning one this month and I can't believe how big he has gotten and how much he has learned. He is crawling like a mad man and is ALWAYS happy.

I have so much more to tell you about our week long adventure so stay tuned!
