Build and Grow- Doggy Leash Holder

I know this is a bit late but I needed to post for memories sake. Potato spent the weekend of the 11th with my mom and sister-n-law. Well it just so happened that this weekend was a Build and Grow weekend.

I hate missing his builds but this one was extremely special and memorable. Potato's, Auntie Claire(who is due the 27th) helped him with his build. I adore the pictures that they got even though with two little crazy boys they weren't able to get a lot of shots.

Potato really seems like he is getting the hang of these builds and really starting to excel at hammering. Even though we don't have dogs to have dog leashes I still don't like him to miss out on an activity if I can help it! I just know Claire was cursing me the whole time.

Anyways, like I have said before you really should look into the Build and Grow program for your little one!

Kids Workshop @ Home Depot: Football Stand!

The first Saturday of every month Home Depot has a free Kids Workshop. From 9-12 you can bring your child in and they can build something. This month we built a foot stand! How perfect is this when football season has kicked off?!?



Our friend Joey brought his God child MaKayla(ms) and his stepfather.Potato did not know what do with himself. I mean he has never built anything with a pretty little girl before. Twitterpated is how I call it lol. He was all smiles and really showing off because he built his project in record time and was showing 'Kayla how to do it!



The only thing that I don't care to much about is that with Home Depot's builds is that they require glue. Who in the world wants to give a child a project with glue? Let's just say we skip it because its not really necessary when you have nails. Shhh don't tell.



After the build Potato got his certificate and pin. I forgot his apron at home like a bad Mommy so we had to borrow one for the project. No worries.A few snaps of the camera and the babies were let loose on the poor customers in Home Depot. I guess they wanted to see just how fast they could run and freak all the older people out. I run after him, apologizing of course. When it was time to leave, Potato's buddy, Kelon showed up with two of his friends.



It was so cute because all of the boys were excited to see each other and Potato did not care that he didn't know two of them. After a group hug we headed home! Woooh until next time......

Build and Grow-UFO

I posted about my Saturday earlier in the week but just in case you missed it!

Ok after my little hell on earth we all loaded up and headed to Lowe's Home and Gardening for our Build and Grow session. It was totally cool that we were building a UFO. It had blinking lights and stickers.......I had a hard time containing myself. This build I wanted to be extremely special because Mr. Airforce/Uncle Richey was going to do the build with Potato.

Mr. Airforce has been in for a couple weeks and we have gotten to spend so much quality time with him, and well it's an understatement to say that he has been the highlight of Potato's days. He will be leaving in a couple days for ALASKA. Yep I said ALASKA! His base is located there and he is more than ready to go and live in the beautiful weather.

I can't believe that I have watched this child grow up for a little brat in his early teens to a grown terd that he is today. He is very special to our family of three and we will miss him dearly. DH is going to be building him a computer and we will get him set up on Skype so that Potato can talk to him. Did I tell you how much I love skype and how much it helps when your loved ones are not close enough.

I am trying not to cry as I think about my little brother leave.

When we went to visit him at boot camp he got an Air Force bear. It's adorable but I don't want to seem biased so I better get an Army Bear soon!

Anyways so drying tears and back to the build.....

Pop also joined us at Lowe's. He is a master carpenter, no lie, and was all to excited to watch his g-babe build a UFO. He also had to help out Ms Fumy and Kelon. It was pretty funny since Fumy comes to these builds half asleep. Not everyone can be a perky morning person like I!

Potato (or Pomatoe as Kelon would say) had a blast and really concentrated on his sticker placement. All in all a great build. I can't wait for the next one!

Arts and Crafts:Maracas

DH brought Potato to school yesterday morning and everything was fine except for what we thought was a little diaper rash. There was no fever or even a sad Potato. He was in great spirits and ready to go play with his friends. I was at work and my cell rang....scary.... I answered and it was the day-care director. She loves Potato and always calls me personally when there is a problem.

DH and I took him to the doctor and Mr. Pediatrician diagnosed him with HFMD (hand, foot, and mouth disease) yesterday and can't go back to school until the doctor releases him. I do have to say that really got off easy with this sickness. He barely has any spots and there has been no fevers. Mr. Pediatrician said that HFMD is suppose to run 103-105 degree fevers. He is in great spirits.

Happy Father's Day....Daddy

When DH wakes up tomorrow morning Potato and I will have breakfast made for him again along with wonderfully creative gifts. Well I stole the idea but hey it takes a lot out of a mommy and thank God our photographer (my mom) is as patient as they come. She is all about the perfect shots and well she got a bunch. I narrowed it down to these three because they portray the true Potato. What do you think?
