Build and Grow- Doggy Leash Holder

I know this is a bit late but I needed to post for memories sake. Potato spent the weekend of the 11th with my mom and sister-n-law. Well it just so happened that this weekend was a Build and Grow weekend.

I hate missing his builds but this one was extremely special and memorable. Potato's, Auntie Claire(who is due the 27th) helped him with his build. I adore the pictures that they got even though with two little crazy boys they weren't able to get a lot of shots.

Potato really seems like he is getting the hang of these builds and really starting to excel at hammering. Even though we don't have dogs to have dog leashes I still don't like him to miss out on an activity if I can help it! I just know Claire was cursing me the whole time.

Anyways, like I have said before you really should look into the Build and Grow program for your little one!

Build and Grow-Bug Box

Whoa this post is over a week due so don't throw any stones. It's been very hectic in our household.

It's so hard to remember what happened last weekend. So much! Build and Grow was a lot of fun......for the boys. The Mommy's on the other hand needed more sleep. We were troopers though and did not complain. We are not allowed to complain, right?

Kelon and Pomatoe(according to Kelon), are really becoming great friends! It's so sweet to watch them share and teach each other new things even though some of the habits they learn from one another are not the greatest.

The build was a Bug Box. Simply.Perfect! It was so easy to build so of course Fumy and I had to correct many of our OWN mistakes lol. Thank God the boys will be the architects of the family. Potato was very intense in making sure each nail was tapped. Pretty hilarious to watch actually.

They share very well!
They are so different from one another.
Don't worry he did not hit his thumb with a hammer. He does not particularly like the goggles.
I had to though!
Very serious!

Bug Box Builder Extraordinaire!

Silly boys!

We had to ride the tractor before we left.
Overall everyone had a blast and as always Potato gets better and better with his hand-eye coordination. I am very proud of Potato.

After our build Fumy decided to meet us at the Summer Fest. Part II!

Build and Grow-UFO

I posted about my Saturday earlier in the week but just in case you missed it!

Ok after my little hell on earth we all loaded up and headed to Lowe's Home and Gardening for our Build and Grow session. It was totally cool that we were building a UFO. It had blinking lights and stickers.......I had a hard time containing myself. This build I wanted to be extremely special because Mr. Airforce/Uncle Richey was going to do the build with Potato.

Mr. Airforce has been in for a couple weeks and we have gotten to spend so much quality time with him, and well it's an understatement to say that he has been the highlight of Potato's days. He will be leaving in a couple days for ALASKA. Yep I said ALASKA! His base is located there and he is more than ready to go and live in the beautiful weather.

I can't believe that I have watched this child grow up for a little brat in his early teens to a grown terd that he is today. He is very special to our family of three and we will miss him dearly. DH is going to be building him a computer and we will get him set up on Skype so that Potato can talk to him. Did I tell you how much I love skype and how much it helps when your loved ones are not close enough.

I am trying not to cry as I think about my little brother leave.

When we went to visit him at boot camp he got an Air Force bear. It's adorable but I don't want to seem biased so I better get an Army Bear soon!

Anyways so drying tears and back to the build.....

Pop also joined us at Lowe's. He is a master carpenter, no lie, and was all to excited to watch his g-babe build a UFO. He also had to help out Ms Fumy and Kelon. It was pretty funny since Fumy comes to these builds half asleep. Not everyone can be a perky morning person like I!

Potato (or Pomatoe as Kelon would say) had a blast and really concentrated on his sticker placement. All in all a great build. I can't wait for the next one!

Potato had to step in and make sure Ms. Fumy was doing it right.

Build and Grow-Monster Truck

I love free programs and well this one has proven to be a memory maker for Potato and I. We have gotten family members involved and are making new friends all the time. It was a very busy build and it seems the word is getting out about the free program. I love it! The boys have fun and learn hand-eye coordination. I hope that our group continues to grow!

The first Saturday in July we will be at Home Depot. We are hoping that it goes better than our first build there.

Build and Grow-Picture Frame

As you can see we are adding more and more people to our Build and Grow family. It was so much fun and Potato made a new friend, Kelon. Fumy, Kelon's mommy works with Potato's Aunt Sammy and well she was chomping at the bit to bring her 2 year old to this FREE even that Lowes puts on twice a month. Little Buck is getting more and more patient with each build and was all smiles. Potato hit daddy a few times with the hammer but I guess its all in the learning process. DH is really enjoying these Saturday mornings with his son and it makes me happy to watch.

The build was a Picture Frame and it was perfect. We had to try a couple times but we finally put it together the right way and Potato was proud.

June 26th they are building a Monster Truck! Please do your baby/babies, girl/boy, a favor and bring them. Wonderful bonding time and its FREE!

I would download all the videos but they really take way too long so here are the links. I hope you enjoy.

Kids Workshop @ Home Depot-Soccer Game

Ok so we have been attending Lowe's Build and Grow workshop but this weekend they did not have one. I was in search of something to do with Potato and I heard from a friend that Home Depot had a building program as well. It's called Kids Workshop.

I have to be honest when I say I was not impressed. Their set-up was not what I expected. They had tall tables and big people chairs. At Lowe's everything is very low to the ground so Potato can stand and work on the project freely. I had to hold him the whole time and he really was uncomfortable and it kept him from working on it himself. I guess it was geared to the older age group but they can have several options of seating.

Then when I requested our free goggles and apron the lazy work shop captain said "Oh I haven't had that stuff for a while." I guess I must have had a bitchy look on my face because I was pissed. I knows it free and I really shouldn't complain but hey its call good customer service and well she could have lied and said they were on order and I would have been satisfied. She failed so now I will be calling Monday morning and talking to a manager.

Lesson: Don't piss off the Momma Bear!

Ok so besides that I was really excited that my dad joined us on the build. To bad he did not know what he was getting himself into! You would think that three adults armed with instructions could build these t-tiny projects no problem. Wrong! Including each group around us we all were ripping the projects apart several times because we hammered or glued something in the wrong spot or direction. It was pretty hilarious actually. My dad would just shake his head and pull the boys projects apart and start over. He was such a trooper! I hope he comes with us again....

Instead of a badge they gave them a pin; which will be easier for me because I can just stick it on their Lowe's apron. I still have 3 badges to sew from last Saturdays build. I love it though!

Here are a few pictures from our adventure today. After the build Potato and I hit the library again and took home about 30 books. I'm not kidding! We read so much I don't want to run out before Saturday.

Build and Grow- Race Car

This build was so much fun. Not only did DH join us but so did my beautiful nephew and my friend Boudreaux and her 3 little boys. It was crazy but everyone made their cars and got their badges. This Saturday we will be trying out Home Depots Kid's Workshop. I will let you know how it goes.
